About the Founder

My name is Jeanice Henderson, and I am the President and Executive Director of New Beginnings Home Support. I founded this organization out of a deep understanding of what families need when they are finally able to secure housing after experiencing homelessness, crisis, or recovery.

Organizational leadership includes over 35 years of experience owning and operating a furniture upholstery business, providing specialized expertise in furniture safety, durability, cost control, and logistics. This experience directly informs program design and implementation and reduces risk associated with program startup.

I have been an active member of my community. Throughout my career, I have worked directly with individuals and families navigating challenging life transitions, which has given me firsthand insight into the gaps that exist between obtaining housing and being able to truly live in it. Time and again, I saw families move into empty spaces without beds, furniture, or basic household items—conditions that make stability and healing far more difficult.

New Beginnings Home Support was created to address this exact gap. Our mission is simple but powerful: to ensure that families transitioning from shelters or treatment centers do not move into empty housing, but into safe, functional homes that support dignity, stability, and long-term success.

As a woman-led organization with a diverse board of directors, we bring both lived experience and professional accountability to our work. Our leadership understands the challenges faced by families rebuilding their lives, and we are committed to operating with transparency, integrity, and fiscal responsibility. Every decision we make is grounded in the belief that a furnished home is foundational to personal stability and community well-being.

I am deeply committed to this work and to the families we serve in Snohomish County. With the support of community partners and funders, New Beginnings Home Support is prepared to make an immediate and lasting impact by transforming empty housing into welcoming homes.
